Currently, she's got her back against the trunk of the tree, resting her leg on a branch, trying not to appear like she's in too much pain. Climbing it up here had really taken it out on her, and it's only a matter of time before her options would become limited. She could only stay in this tree for so long.

They've been taunting her like this for a while, so it's hardly startling. She'll just employ the same tactic she's been employing for a while: ignoring them, and trying not to grit her teeth too obviously.]

[Okay, so he's finally going to put it down, and when he does, there's a great deal of frustration behind that action. As much as he doesn't want to be frustrated, he can't help it; it's just something that's been building over the past few weeks, and is finally coming to a head at this moment. He knows what he's supposed to do, but beyond that...

[she doesn't mind him being frustrated, really. It's been a strain for both of them. That's why she tries to be there for him]

Maybe after we find all the Horcruxes. That would be the the end, or the "close", as it were.

They never boil. I know it's a Muggle saying, but it does carry some wisdom.

[The Dursleys were never really full of this particular kind of wisdom, considering most of what they said to him was usually about telling him to get back to his cupboard, or something of that nature. There was quite a bit he missed out on growing up.

But as he listens to this and considers this, he realizes... she's right. Just like she always is. If he continues to sit here and drown in his frustration, they'll never get anywhere. They'll never find one Horcrux, much less all of the ones that are still out there. True, they currently don't have a plan, but it'll come. They'll figure it out.

How could he ever even think of doing this alone? He'd be lost before he even set out on his way.

[That's quite a tall order when, you... you know... cracked his uncrackable safe and took off with his car. Just saying.

But he does happen to be in the area when this is starting to go down. And as soon as his eye catches the scene, he's speeding the Batpod over there as fast as it can go. Because, honestly, he wouldn't not intervene. It's not in his nature.

(Besides, he may need you for something bigger yet, Ms. Kyle. That's his story and he's sticking with it. Yep.)

Hopefully, the diversion he creates when he gets there, in the form of a blast to a nearby wall, will start dispersing the swarm.]

[Oh nice diversion! That helps her take out two distracted men at once. And now she's grabbing the nearest guy's gun and shooting him with it BECAUSE GUNS ARE AWESOME.]

After he steps off the Batpod, that'll be him, sending a fist over in her direction with the intent of knocking the gun away from her while he sends a kick into one of the other men simultaneously. He has a rule. And tonight, neither one of them are breaking it.]

[Aw man. He knocks the gun out of her hand and she jumps back, reevaluating the situation. Maybe he just didn't like the gun?? FINE B(

She sweeps a guy out from under his feet and grabs another by the face, slamming him into the ground.]

[She's good, he finds himself thinking before he can stop it. The cat burglar who managed to swipe his fingerprints is certainly living up to her reputation. The ease with which she takes out those two men reflects a definite level of skill that isn't quite so common on the streets of Gotham.

But it's a distraction he certainly can't afford. And one that almost cost them.

At the last second, he manages to catch sight of another one of the men, one they hadn't anticipated, coming from behind her, all but poised to take her out.

Mind your surroundings. Always.....]

Behind you. [He raises a fist to block the man's blow.]

[She ducks down instinctively, shocked that he's taking the blow for her, but she has no time to stop because the other men are already closing in. She sails forward, kicking a man in the face with those wicked heels.]

[The thing he'll try his hardest not to show is that, even despite the armor on this suit, these hits are much harder on him than they used to be. A substantial fall, eight years of inactivity, a rushed attempt to get back into the game, all of these things are taking their toll. He takes a fist to the gut, and he groans, just slightly.

Regardless, though, he continues to push through the pain, taking care of this assailant with a crucial blow to a pressure point, while she's off dealing with one of the others. How many more of them are there?]
